From October, NFZ to fund lung CT scans for smokers at no cost
From 1 October 2026, Poland's National Health Fund (NFZ) will launch a nationwide free lung cancer screening programme. It will target primarily long-term and former smokers classified as high-risk, who will be eligible for low-dose CT scans without a referral. The programme is expected to cost more than 114 million zlotys over its first three years.
