Iran executed at least 900 people since January, rights group reports record rise
The Abdorrahman Boroumand Center documented 901 executions in Iran in the first seven months of the year, including 56 on political or national security charges and 98 members of ethnic minorities. The figures represent a further rise in death penalties in the Islamic Republic in recent years. The data points to a systematic intensification of repression in the country.
