Ukraine's parliament approves Yevhenii Khmara as new defence minister
Ukraine's parliament approved Yevhenii Khmara, a former acting head of the Security Service of Ukraine, as the country's new defence minister. He replaces Mykhailo Fedorov, who called for presidential elections shortly before his dismissal. Elections have been banned in Ukraine since martial law was declared following Russia's full-scale invasion.
