mRNA cancer vaccine succeeds in phase 3 melanoma trial

Merck and Moderna announced that their personalised mRNA cancer vaccine, intismeran, combined with Merck's Keytruda, slowed the return and spread of melanoma in a landmark Phase 3 randomised clinical trial — the first of its kind for so-called neoantigen vaccines. The treatment targeted patients whose melanoma had been surgically removed. Detailed trial data have not yet been released by the companies.
