29 US states sue Meta for addicting children to social media

A lawsuit brought by the attorneys general of 29 US states against Meta has gone to trial in California. The states accuse the tech giant of violating children's rights and deliberately engineering its platforms — Facebook and Instagram — to be addictive for minors. The case was reported by BBC.
