Apple overhauls EU App Store fees: 5% commission replaces per-install charge

Apple has simplified its EU App Store fee structure, replacing the per-install charge with a 5% commission on apps distributed outside the App Store. The company also loosened rules for operating alternative app marketplaces, making it easier for developers to run rival stores within the EU. The changes come in response to the requirements of the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA).
