WTA may cut mandatory tournaments after years of pressure from Świątek and others

Iga Świątek and other top women's tennis players have long called for a reduction in the number of mandatory WTA tournaments. The organisation now appears ready to act, with WTA calendar council member Bob Moran acknowledging that competing in six mandatory 500-level events is simply unworkable for players.
