Australia and New Zealand send record 240+ firefighters to battle US wildfires

Australia and New Zealand have dispatched their largest-ever contingent of firefighters — more than 240 — to the United States to help battle an unusually destructive wildfire season. American firefighting resources have been stretched to their limits by the scale of this season's fires. The two countries responded to a request for international assistance.
