Poles invest mainly in property, but rental yields are falling below government bond returns
Polish investment portfolios have for years been dominated by real estate, while Western markets build multi-generational equity portfolios and use REITs. UniCredit economists Szymon Karaś and Piotr Zygmunt warn that rental yields are already trailing government bond returns and that demographic ageing could hit the housing market hard. The experts call for greater diversification of Polish savings.
