Poland's Fiscal Council chief warns of mounting debt, urges real deficit cuts
Sławomir Dudek, head of Poland's Fiscal Council, has warned that the 2027 budget draft must deliver a genuine reduction in the public sector deficit rather than merely improving accounting metrics. He called on political parties to present concrete fiscal repair plans before elections instead of competing with expensive promises. Dudek flagged the country's mounting public debt as a serious structural threat.
