88,000 Poles die each year from preventable causes — one of EU's worst rates

Poland records over 88,000 preventable deaths each year — a figure equivalent to the entire population of Kalisz. Prof. Iwona Kowalska-Bobko, director of the Jagiellonian University Public Health Institute, stresses that the problem goes beyond funding alone. Poland ranks near the bottom of OECD countries in healthcare effectiveness.
