Vishing scam costs PKO BP customer 96,000 PLN in loans and savings

A PKO BP customer was tricked by a hours-long phone call — a vishing attack — into taking out an 80,000 PLN loan and withdrawing 16,000 PLN in savings, losing 96,000 PLN in total. In other phishing variants, criminals send links to forms stealing card details, PESEL numbers, account balances and authorisation codes. Experts warn that phishing is growing increasingly sophisticated.
