Polish airline pilot: I never flew a fully airworthy plane

A pilot who worked for several years at a Polish airline has revealed he never flew a plane that was fully airworthy. He says a system of financial penalties for reporting faults — up to one third of monthly earnings — discourages pilots from flagging problems. In his view, economic pressure, not technology, is the greatest threat to flight safety.
