Summer heat crippled Polish railways — over 40% of trains delayed in June

In June, over 40% of PKP Intercity trains were delayed due to extreme heat, and 579 connections were cancelled in the last week of the month alone. High temperatures warped rails, stretched overhead lines and stressed air-conditioning systems. Trams and roads were also affected, exposing how unprepared Polish infrastructure is for a hotter climate.
