Gold mine collapse in Central African Republic kills at least 30 miners

An artisanal gold mining site collapsed in the western Central African Republic, killing at least 30 miners. Artisanal mining is widespread in the region but is notorious for dangerous working conditions and lack of safety oversight. Rescue operations are under way at the site.
