Fired Ukrainian defence chief Fedorov calls for elections, challenging Zelenskyy
Mykhailo Fedorov, recently dismissed as Ukraine's defence minister, called for elections in a video address Tuesday despite the country's ongoing war with Russia. His firing triggered nationwide protests against President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Fedorov argued that Ukrainians should not let Putin decide when they can choose their government. Ukraine's constitution prohibits elections during martial law, in force since Russia's full-scale invasion began in February 2022.
