Trump and Carney speak as US tariff deadline on Canada approaches
US President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney spoke ahead of a looming American tariff deadline on Canadian imports. The new tariffs would cover roughly $20 billion worth of goods and risk job losses and business closures in Canada. Trade negotiations between the two countries are ongoing but have not produced a breakthrough.
