FDA approves Orzeyful, first narcolepsy drug targeting the disorder's root cause

The FDA has approved Orzeyful for the treatment of narcolepsy type 1 in adults, making it the first medication to target the disorder's root cause rather than just its symptoms. Narcolepsy type 1 is caused by the loss of brain cells that produce orexin, a chemical that regulates the sleep-wake cycle.
