Russian businesses paid $4.5bn in "voluntary" budget contributions

Russian businesses have paid nearly 384 billion rubles ($4.5 billion) into the federal budget in so-called voluntary, non-refundable contributions, according to the Russian edition of Forbes. The mechanism is widely seen as compulsory, effectively forcing oligarchs and large companies to help finance Russia's war effort.
