Infantino ally says FIFA president still has congress backing despite mounting pressure

Véron Mosengo-Omba, a close ally of Gianni Infantino and president of the Congolese Football Federation (Fecofa), insisted that the FIFA president still has the "overwhelming support" of its congress despite growing pressure. However, Mosengo-Omba also criticised Infantino's FIFA Forward Enterprise scheme, which sought to sell more than 20% of the World Cup to private investors. He admitted he did not support the sell-off plan.
