Root returns as England captain vowing to build on Stokes-McCullum era against Pakistan
Joe Root has returned as England Test captain ahead of a three-match series against Pakistan in Leeds, vowing not to "rip up" the work done by retiring captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum. Root praised Dan Lawrence's off-spin bowling on his return to the Test side.
