Search launched after abandoned yacht found drifting off French island

Search and rescue operations were launched Monday evening after a yacht was found adrift near a French island, with no crew visible on board. The alarm was raised by a passenger on a Brittany Ferries vessel travelling from Portsmouth to Bilbao, who spotted the apparently distressed sailboat. Authorities are attempting to determine whether anyone was on board and what may have happened.
