Geekom admits LAN driver for several mini-PC models shipped with password-stealing malware

Hardware maker Geekom has confirmed that a LAN driver on its legacy software page for the A7, A8, AE7, AE8, AX7 Pro and AX8 Pro mini-PCs contained the Asruex backdoor malware. The malicious package ran with administrator-level permissions, logging keystrokes, stealing passwords, and connecting to a hacker-controlled command-and-control server. Geekom has removed the file and apologised, but users who already installed the driver must clean their machines themselves.
