Polish government: replacing the Church Fund with a tax opt-in would cost the budget more

The Polish government has analysed the cost of replacing the Church Fund with a system allowing taxpayers to direct part of their tax to a chosen church or religious organisation. In a response to a parliamentary Petitions Committee request, the government indicated the new system would place a higher burden on the state budget than the current fund. Detailed figures were not made public.
