Turkey faces scrapping $2.5 bn worth of S-400 systems after UAE rejects purchase
Turkey's negotiations with the United Arab Emirates over selling its Russian-made S-400 air defence systems have collapsed. The Trump administration has made the delivery of F-35 fighters conditional on Ankara disposing of the S-400s. With the UAE refusing to buy them, Turkey now faces scrapping equipment worth $2.5 billion if it wants to obtain the F-35.
