Russia classifies wine and beer as "strategic goods" — grey-market imports face five-year prison terms
From 20 August, Russia classifies still and sparkling wines, beer, cider and other low-alcohol drinks as "strategic goods", making grey-market imports punishable by up to five years in prison. Electronic cigarettes and vaping devices are also included on the list. The legal change is intended to curb uncontrolled imports of these products.
