Ebola in DRC: deadliest outbreak on record is outpacing the response

The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is the deadliest on record and is outpacing the response capacity, according to WHO. A key problem is that not all circulation sites are known — infected people remain outside treatment centres and transmission chains go undetected. Armed conflict, population movement and a lack of community trust are hampering testing, contact tracing and safe burials.
