PKO BP missed fraud signals — customer lost 96,000 PLN in one day

A PKO BP customer took out an 80,000 PLN loan, opened a new account and withdrew all the cash in a single day, telling staff she wanted to surprise her husband — and the bank raised no red flags. She then emptied a second account of 16,000 PLN in savings, losing a total of 96,000 PLN. Her husband waited 20 minutes on the bank's helpline trying to raise the alarm.
