Bundeswehr reaches 13-year high of 186,700 troops as of end of July

Germany's armed forces stood at approximately 186,700 personnel as of 31 July, according to the German defence ministry. That is the highest troop level the Bundeswehr has reached in about 13 years, since compulsory military service was suspended. Germany has been steadily expanding its military amid shifting security conditions in Europe.
