Meta tests Scam Alert on WhatsApp while Facebook still profits from fake ads

Meta is testing a Scam Alert feature in WhatsApp to warn users about suspicious messages from unknown contacts. Critics, including entrepreneur Rafał Brzoska, point out that the company simultaneously earns billions from fake-content advertising on Facebook. The new feature is widely seen as a superficial fix that does not address the underlying problem of disinformation monetisation.
