Petrobras finds oil near Amazon delta — Brazil's Lula calls it "passport to the future"

Brazilian state oil company Petrobras announced the discovery of a new oil field off the country's north-eastern coast, near the mouth of the Amazon river. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva described it as a "passport to the country's future" that would "show the true potential of the region." The size of the deposit has not been disclosed.
