Bundeswehr reaches 186,700 troops — highest in 13 years, with 260,000 targeted by mid-2030s

Germany has announced that the Bundeswehr now numbers 186,700 troops, the highest level in 13 years. Recruitment is being accelerated, with the goal of reaching 260,000 professional soldiers by the mid-2030s. Germany will also need around 200,000 reservists to meet its targets.
