Cash bounces back in the eurozone — accepted by 92% of shops
Data from the European Central Bank shows that 92% of physical shops in the eurozone accept cash, a share that has risen compared with 2024. The earlier retreat from cash has turned out to be temporary. Mobile payments recorded the largest growth, however, attracting an increasing number of users.
