US kindergarten vaccination rates drop again as exemptions keep rising, CDC reports
CDC data shows that only 92.4% of US kindergartners received the MMR vaccine in the 2025–2026 school year, down from 92.5% the previous year, while DTaP coverage slipped from 92.1% to 92.0%. Both figures remain well below the 95% threshold needed to prevent outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases. Vaccination rates have been declining since the 2019–2020 school year, when coverage stood at around 95%.
