Archaeologists make breakthrough in search for lost Egyptian city of Mesen

Excavations at Tel Abu Saifa in Egypt have yielded new evidence suggesting the site may be the location of the ancient lost city of Mesen, mentioned in ancient Egyptian texts in connection with Ramesses II and the god Horus. The discoveries were made by Egyptian archaeologists. While the identification is not yet confirmed, the findings represent a significant step forward in the search for the city.
