YouTube now counts a view the moment a video starts playing
YouTube has changed how it counts views, now registering a view as soon as a video begins playing rather than after a set amount of time. The shift follows the same approach the platform applied to Shorts videos a year ago. The new method could significantly inflate the official view counts for published content.
