US Treasury seeks public comment on GENIUS Act stablecoin rules

The US Treasury Department has opened a public comment period on stablecoin regulations under the GENIUS Act. Under the law, entities generally cannot issue payment stablecoins in the US without obtaining a federal or state licence. The move marks one of the first steps toward implementing comprehensive cryptocurrency market regulation in the United States.
