YouTube to count views from first second of playback starting August 24th

Starting August 24th, YouTube will count a view as soon as a video begins playing, aligning with the method used by Instagram, TikTok, and its own Shorts platform. The platform says creators will likely see their total view counts increase faster as a result of the change.
