GENIUS Act stablecoin rules may not be finalised before the law takes effect in January 2027
The GENIUS Act, which governs stablecoin issuance in the United States, is set to take effect in January 2027, but finalised implementing regulations may not be ready in time. The Treasury Department already missed a July deadline for its consultation process. The crypto industry could therefore operate for a period without definitive regulatory guidance.
