US Space Force and Japan launch space surveillance sensor above Indo-Pacific

The US Space Force successfully launched the second and final sensor of the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System-Hosted Payload programme aboard Japan's QZS-7 navigation satellite on August 10. A Japanese H3 rocket carried the payload from Tanegashima Space Center. The sensor will feed near-real-time data to the US Space Surveillance Network, tracking activity in geosynchronous orbit above the Indo-Pacific from roughly 22,000 miles up.
