macOS Screen Sharing bug exploited for cryptomining within days — update now

The CVE-2026-65400 vulnerability in macOS Screen Sharing was exploited in cryptojacking attacks within days of public disclosure. Attackers gained root access via port 5900 and deployed Monero miners using XMRig. Apple has patched the flaw in Sequoia 15.7.9, Sonoma 14.8.9 and Tahoe 26.6.1, and users are urged to update immediately.
