Apple ordered to redesign tracking consent prompts after German antitrust ruling

Germany's Federal Cartel Office has ordered Apple to change its App Tracking Transparency consent prompts, alleging the design unfairly favoured Apple's own apps over third-party competitors. When ATT launched with iOS 14.5, social media apps reportedly lost nearly $10 billion in revenue as cross-app tracking became largely opt-in. Apple has said it will modify the prompts in response.
