Berek leaves government as KO coalition rows over his Constitutional Tribunal nomination

Maciej Berek has left his ministerial post and a signed motion nominating him for the Constitutional Tribunal has been submitted to the Sejm. Coalition partners of Koalicja Obywatelska have raised objections, but the bigger concern within KO is what President Karol Nawrocki will do. Parliamentary arithmetic is seen as less of an obstacle than the potential response from the head of state.
