American hiker dies after lightning strike on Mount Etna

A 29-year-old American hiker died after being struck by lightning on the eastern slope of Mount Etna in Italy on Sunday. Rescuers found him in serious condition on the volcano; he was later pronounced dead at a hospital in Catania.
