Microsoft may have far fewer AI chips than it claims, Guardian investigation finds

A Guardian investigation has found an apparent discrepancy between what Microsoft has publicly claimed about its AI capacity and the actual number of advanced AI chips the company has in operation. Graphics processing units are fundamental to developing AI models, and the world's largest tech companies require vast quantities of them. The gap identified suggests Microsoft's AI capabilities may be smaller than the company has officially indicated.
