Expert on Hungary crash: microsleep and "autopilot" mode likely caused the tragedy

Transport psychologist Dr Wojciech Korchut says that night driving, monotonous roads and fatigue dramatically increase the risk of road accidents. He notes that drivers differ in their predispositions and not all cope equally well under such conditions. The expert calls for long-distance route assignments to factor in not only a driver's experience but also road characteristics, traffic intensity and the time of travel.
