EU regulation making it easier to obtain electronic evidence enters into force

A new EU regulation entered into force on Tuesday, allowing prosecutors and courts to more easily obtain electronic evidence from digital platforms — including emails, messaging apps and cloud data — regardless of where it is stored. The rules are designed to speed up cross-border investigations. The regulation applies across all EU member states.
