Galaxy IC 1101 is larger than thought — and still growing

The most detailed images ever taken of galaxy IC 1101 have allowed astronomers to map the boundaries of its stellar body more precisely than before. The results show it is larger than previously estimated and continues to grow with no apparent sign of slowing. IC 1101 is the largest known galaxy.
