Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Sweden to stop recognising non-biometric Russian passports from 2026

From 1 October 2026, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Sweden will no longer recognise Russian non-biometric passports. Russians holding older-style documents will be unable to enter these four EU countries without obtaining a biometric passport.
