Ecologists warn 110,000 tonnes of glass litter Polish forests yearly, call for bottle deposit scheme

Environmental group EKO Unia warns that up to 110,000 tonnes of glass may end up in Polish forests, rivers and hiking trails every year, largely from single-use small bottles known as "małpki". Ecologists are calling on the government to include single-use glass bottles in the deposit-return scheme. The climate ministry has announced it will work on legislative changes.
